Well, I guess I am lucky, received the notice of the recall on the flange bolts. Made an appointment with my Ford Dealer, they ordered the replacement kit, also did the 3000 mile oil change. Took less than a day, no leak, original factory bolts and washers were fine. Absolutely no problems with service, they were helpful, courteous, spent time with me going over the bolt issues, showed me the hardened bolts and washers. Buerge Ford Rocks, West LA. :thumbsup

Check out what the GT Guys found when they did my bolts. I had one or two more pulls before I would have been stranded.

well I guess that runs the gamut, don't have an explanation why mine were okay. I have never dropped the clutch or laid any rubber with my GT. It has a better life than I do, as it doesn't have a 16 year old daughter making its decisions daily!!!

:banana

I wasn't as lucky as Fubar. Bolts broke on the way to the dealership. What are the odds?

Im lucky to.

Ive got two whipple cars, and drive them alot. But i dont do crazy things.
But with the power incrise and haveing 22s on the rear you would think
if there was a weak link that would be it.

For those who haven't see them. look at the difference in washers

Wasn't it decided that the pblm had nuthin' to do with a GT's use/power/mileage but was rather a "time" related metal crystalization pblm?

'Seems I remember it was decided that ALL GT's would need the 'bolts replaced as a result no matter what.
