OK bony, Tell the mix on your manhattans. I have a mix from my wife's father that is offbeat but -very nice-.

Thanks,

Steve

A friend who's going through bar tending school sent me this-
1 1/4 oz rye whiskey
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
maraschino cherry for garnish

Close but no prize...
Exactly two parts MAKER MARK
One part top grade sweet vermouth such as Martini Rossi
One Dash Angostura
One Anarena Cherry (bitter taste comes from Bologna - Modena area)
stirred, never shaken, shaking fractures the Makers
served by a hardbody ....:cheers :banana :cheers

Try this.

3 parts jim beam
1 part sweet vermouth

Pour in glass you will be drinking out of.
Place in freezer for 1 1/2 hour.
Add cherry and drink.

Bony, my favorite is also makers mark, but I've tried every whiskey known to man and good old cheap jim beam does the best freezer manhattan. Smooth and delicious.

Only the best,

Steve

It is all a matter of taste, you can never argue with anyone's taste.
Some folks can't understand the difference between one product and another.
Enjoy...:wink

My favorite little nursery rhyme; Booker's, Baker's, Maker's.... !

Bony - give us some Martini tips. I am about to play with the "James Bond Martini" (I found some Lillet). Shaken of course, to intentionally thumb his nose at the stiffs, according to legend.
