Does anybody know how this device will be installed into newer vehicles such as OBD2 as well as older vehicles that have no computer?

Most likely it will appear in all vehicles from all manufacturers since it is just software and thry wont make a car just gor washington... then other states will require it be turned on. Then it will become federal mandate. The racing lobbies will lobby against it...

Fortunately I'll be dead before I'd need to buy a car so equipped.

Ps I'll also bet dealers can bypass it. What about someone who moves where draconian laws don't exist?

Pps this is a knee jerk reaction to the fact that they no longer enforce traffic laws. When I grew up two speeding tickets got an insurance penalty. 3 got a restricted to work license and 4 was suspended. Now it's the same as a parking ticket.

Go to the web page, there's more detailed information. Note that (at least initially) it will apply only to repeat reckless or dangerous drivers, not everyone. In the future, who knows .... ?

The clickbait I read made it sound like all new vehicles woukd have it. Of course everything on the internet is true. This makes it more like the breathalyzer for DUI offenders. but some places want all cars to have those too. Big brother protecting us from ourselves

Mileage tax, Speed limiters and breathalyzers in all new cars is the future. Hopefully I will not be alive to see that day.

The party that’s controlled our state for 40 years and the legacy media desperately want camera enforcement on every mile of roadway in this state.

They are currently framing speeding as a public health crisis in order to garner support for the camera enforcement. It’s the exact same methodology used on other "public health crisis’s" used before…successfully.

The push now is to pound the drum daily with cherry picked statistics or stories to further the narrative that we all live in great danger due to "speeders". Every accident is immediately attributed to speed, even though 60% of the injury accidents have at least one impaired driver (dope is legal here). The fact is fatalities are at the same level now that they were in the early 90’s, when 55mph was still in effect and our state had nearly 3 million less residents.

If you want to really learn more about their objectives, look up Vision Zero. Our rights as motorists is truly under serious attack. Every state has a Vision Zero movement, it’s not just Washington State.

Also join the NMA if you enjoy your driving freedoms.

Until head on deaths go up cause people can’t pass on two lanes because of the limiters.. the law suites will be wild!
