well Lotus builds the Tesla for the most part on a stretched elise chassis. So it would be the same DNA. As for power, Lotus tends to bump power every year and I am sure Forced Induction is in the cars future.
I think the car would be mean with a turbo kit on it. To be honest I miss my Elise ... but the crazies around here just make me a bit too nervous to drive it. The GT if I do get hit at least (I feel) would keep me (and passenger) in one piece. :thumbsup

I also miss my Elise. I did autocross it a few times but not enough to warrant keeping the car. As a weekender..it was scary . My wife and I had very near misses (inches) a few times in parking lots. A std sized sedan cannot see an Elise in its rear view mirrors.
Somehow I convinced myself the Tesla will be different (not true). At any rate , I have # 165 due last qtr 08 (probably 1st qtr 09). They are running about one year behind schedule.Automotive history in the making,,:biggrin
The comfort, trim , options and egress/ingress of the Tesla are very different from that of the Elise. And, it accelerates like a true supercar. The weird thing is the lack of "sound"..This will take some getting used to. It is like driving with a monster hair dryer in the backend.
The Evora does seem to have some Tesla influence ..but staunch Lotus fans will resist the power to weight ratio. As with the Elise/Exige Lotus will undoubtedly bring out more power after the aftermarket guys prove the market exists.. IMHO:wink
