Lola T70s @ Monza

Great pictures and story Eddie, thank you. The first Lola T70 I ever saw was owned by John Mecom Jr. And was driven by Walt Hansken in Galveston, Texas in I think 1964-65. Demo Johnson from Dallas owned a Super lite Corvette he purchased from John Jr.. They ran in SCCA in C Modified. We ran a 289 Cobra in A production. Wow those were the days. I think the Lola T 70 was Chevy powered as John Jr. Was big time into GM and got all of their new engines. We ran in the SW Region. It's amazing you still have that car, I'll. bet many have tried to purchase it?

Tommy I was at SCCA races with my Dad in Galveston back then as he was racing an Austin Healey. I dont actually remember it but I do remember those names

Here are a couple of pics from Green Valley Raceway, outside of Dallas in 1967. The first may be a Lola T-70, not sure. Then a Cobra racer.
You could just wander through the pits back then. Had a great conversation with Dan Gurney as he was relaxing in the back of a Town Car. He beat Parnelli in the closest finish in Trans Am that year, for Team Cougar.

Also found a pic of a Hamon GT 350.

Great memories.

Great pictures Philip. The GT350 was #108 we raced in the 60's with Carroll. That picture was taken in 1965 or 66 at Green Valley, Dallas with Bill Steele in practice. Pedro Rodrigues drove in the feature race against Carroll's Nat Champ Jerry Titus. Pedro ran him off the course in the first lap and he could never catch up. Rick Titus to this day won't talk to me about that race. Those we the good old days. It's a wonder I ever got out of college trying to make every race on weekends and back to school on Monday. Picture below.
