Historically, the fastest in qualifying doesn't win the race.

Per Carroll Shelby, this is a true endurance race and of attrition not just of outright speed.

Car preservation is key.

At least from that list the Matech GT is the second fastest in GT1

Expectations: Remember this is a private effort not a factory backed one - huge difference. The 2nd qualifying session (GT1's) looks good, FGT's grouped around an experienced Corvette team, led by an Aston. Also, I seem to recall that all of Matech's drivers, save one, are rookies at LeMans. They are learning the track and it's a very respectable effort thus far. For a 1st year objective, hope to see them finish the 24 hours and be competitive in class. :thumbsup

24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 : Hours 10-12

Fifteen minutes into the tenth hour of the race the safety car was sent out again after the Ford GT of GT1 race leader Thomas Mutsch and the OAK Racing Pescarolo of Jean-Francois Yvon. The Ford GT was tapped by the Pescarolo and then hit again as it came back on the track after spinning.
