I got involved with a hybrid by a different manufacturer than Toyota that would fully engage the regeneration mode (coasting wheel power drives the generator) at highway speeds. The effect was like hard braking, but without displaying the stop lights. The dealer (yes, that's us) couldn't duplicate the problem, nor could the Technical Hotline offer any effective advice.

The manufacturer bought the car back.
