Looks like a decent price assuming clean.

Page no longer exist. What were the details in this car? Why use an auction like this? Not very smart on the sellers part

It was a very nice '05 Silver - no stripe, I think around 6,000 miles - sold at $255,000.

Mileage was 3,100 ish when I saw the listing.

Agreed These guys are a staple on Antiques Roadshow not car guys.

I sold that car several years ago. Wonder how it ended up there...

While more widely-known known for their expertise in multiple other areas, they apparently ARE legitimate "car guys". Google them, or take a look at their website.

Wonder what the Keno fees were?

The buyer's premium here is 12% for a total price of $285,600. Not bad. I was at the pre-Auction on Wed. night. Great showing, the prices that they were looking for on many of the cars seemed high, I wonder how they made out. Great venue, displays were fantastic!

Fees were 12%

Selling a Miura too

Full report on hammer prices on F-Chat. Maybe 18-20 of the 39 lots sold. Lots of crickets in the room. Auctioneer was monotone. Not inspiring like the RM and Gooding guys. Several of the cars had made the auction rounds previously as No sales.

I'm surprised these two are actually into cars at all. I have to wonder if they really are or being coached. not sure. someone just said how monotone the auctioneers are. I feel kinda the same way with the Mecum auctions compared to the BJ auctions. Mecum's just doesn't have the professionalism and hype that BJ puts into their auctions. always seems like a lot of confusion going on at Mecum. jmo

Selling a Miura too

What did that sell for and was it an S?

It is a P400S. Chassis 4377. Reportedly mostly original condition including paint. Authenticated by Balboni.
Hammered $870,000 plus12% = $974,400
If the car was correct etc, this is a steal for an S.
Same car sold in 2014 at Retromobile Artcurial (Paris) for Euro 785,600
The dollar was weaker in '14, so probably a wash overall.

Those cars have really moved in value. Thnx for the skinny.

It's NYC...first or second auction in the city since Christies sold Sinatra's orange Miura with yellow shag carpeting in 2003

NYC is a wasteland of car collecting; couple of tarted-up car brokers and car clubs; one Concours in Central Park in 22yrs

Got to hand it to these guys for trying; would be a gold mine if right auction house commited.

Something like 5,000 30-45yr old guys get $1-3million checks like clockwork every Dec; even exotic dealers in LI, CT, NJ get business.
