I took the GT in today to have the transaxle replaced. I had hoped that Ford Racing would have the short throw shifter to me by the time the car went in so that I would not have to make a second trip. No such luck. I had already put off the transaxle exchange for two months; I could not wait any longer.

I have some observations about taking the car in for service:
a. The car is a big hit with migrant workers along rural roads
b. The car is a smash hit with kids that should be in school but are on the roads instead
c. Most people in vans do not notice the car
d. Truck drivers honk to show affection...that's not a good thing
e. Keeping the car from jumping out of third gear while staving off admirers is truly no fun
f. Dodge dealers are unfriendly when asking directions to a Ford dealership

Doc, where do you live in Georgia?

Yesterday you were posting about the quality of the "lift" people - who you are probably rightfully concerned about them looking at your Silverware and this post of you driving to the dealer in what appears to be the "back country" - I have to ask do you really live in Atlanta?

Mad, it's just humor. I may be the only one here (posting) that truly lives in Atlanta. Many people claim "Atlanta" but live in Riverdale or Duluth or... I tease Tungsten about that all the time. He lives in some primitive locale called Alpharetta or something similar.

I live in Atlanta.

However, the description of migrant workers, transients who should be in school and miscreants that wander the roadways exist in most cities.

The dealership I am using is 18 miles away...it is outside Atlanta in a place called Gwinnett. I take backroads to get there.
