Pulled the trigger on a silver 05.
Waiting for the paper work to go through and for the car to be delivered (next week).

I was wondering about what insurance to use....
I have Progressive for my other cars... I tried to add the GT on line but it was not avaliable...

I am very happy with Progressive (I had a couple of occasions where they were extremely fast in paying with no issues whatsoever) but was wondering if I should use a company specialized in exotics.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

my progressive coverage maxes out at $150k for the car in the event of a total loss. this is with 300/100/50 coverage. but the upside is that i only pay $123 a month. if my car is worth $175k and i total it then i am out the $25k. but if that were to happen 20 years from now then i would be ahead of the game because i will have saved my self the 25k in insurance fees that i would have paid to have it covered, so i will take that gamble. whenever my cars resale value escalates beyond $200k in the future then i will have to find a new insurance company. as it stands right now i pay more to register my car annualy for emmisions than i do for insurance.

I use State Farm, about $1500/yr.

I have like 6 policies with home, umbrella, apt., cars, etc

I am right around $1100 a year with Allstate in NC.

State farm with home and $2mm umbrella ($200/year) for my '00 Viper and my '06 GT it's $825 a year! :thumbsup

$1,025 yr. with USAA.

High Rates

You guys must drive like my grandma, lucky you. I've had several tickets, Allstate, State Farm, turned down. GEICO-$3500. I ended up adding it to my corporate policy where I have 4 other vehicles, still close to $4k.

$2500/year for my GT here in the Seattle area with Allstate, but no smog cert BS and license is about $70/year (personalized plates). By the way, Allstate didn't know the GT had antilock brakes - had to provide a copy of the window sticker to the insurance agent - I expect to get some money back soon.

My first name is Gramps

Ouch... just got a quote from AIG...
$5k per year.... I do have a couple of speeding tickets....

State Farm underwrites my FGT.

State Farm, about $900/year, and I have a bad record (clean the last two years)

metlife insured mine for 30 days @ $2,500/yr as a "courtesy." Then they told me to go find other insurance. So I will take my cars, house, etc. and go shopping. ... and I have a decent record, no claims, etc. wtf? My new broker is already saying Hagerty.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU........This is why I love this site. Everyone here is ready to help out, just for info, or giving help in any form. I just called Esurance.com and reduced my policy (same coverage as Allstate) from $15,500. a year to $8048.00. Now is that a deal or what? And you can be sure I owe someone at least a dinner.....anytime on me.... Ty HHGT..you made it possible.(Just spent $5000. on mods on the FGT, paid ....all thanks to you):thumbsup

Gino

P.S. The FGT comes to approx $1200.00 year. (in NYC)

USAA, $1,200 a year (with a stated 4,500 miles a year). Hundred bucks a month seems fair to me.
