ok im about to be a new gt owner and i was wondering where is the best place to insure the car (what company) would my reqular insurance cover the car and in general what do i need to know about insuring this car. i appreciate all the help thak you.

I'm with State Farm. I found the quote very reasonable, although I know State Farm doesn't have the reputation as a "bargain" insurance company.

I do bid out our cars (3) from time to time, and I manage to stay with State Farm.

I have the GT insured with State Farm as well. Hit the search button above, lots of discussion has taken place.

What color?

Better be red.

collector insurance

I use Grundy for collector car insurance on everything but my two daily drivers. Stated value, some use restrictions but not too bad. Saves me a bundle and in AZ keeps me from having to do emissions testing. Grundy has been real good to work with.

State Farm here, was surprised...

Insurance

State Farm Ins. with agreed Value. Just renewed 2nd 6mo. period with agreed value of $165,000 for $626.00 per 6 months X 2= $1252 per yr. Had Grundys before for much higher price. Tomy

I am an agent for ANPAC(American National Insurance Company) I have my GT insured through their classic car program which runs me a little less than $600 per year. I am getting a discount which effect the rates by having all of my insurance with them. Each state's rates will very as well as coverage. You can go on their web site www.anpac.com search for an agent by your zip code and give them a call. Since I am in Texas, our program has a milage limit of 10K per year. There are also some other restrictions which may or may not apply to you, again, it depends on the state you live in. If anyone has any questions PM or email me and I would be glad to help.

I think Grundy does agreed value, not stated value. Agreed value is what you want.

Yes you are correct.

I am inquiring with my State Farm agent to see if their office (nor CA) will provide AGREED Value also.

UPDATE: Hmmm.

The response from my agent's office is that my 2006 Ford GT is covered under MARKET VALUE. That might be a good thing...Or maybe not.

I'm sure what we consider market, and what they consider market could vary...

Anyone have any thoughts on MARKET VALUE and whether that is interpreted closer to AGREED or STATED, typically?

what is that? car, i mean? I think I see an RX7 door in there.

right you are it is a rx7 with a amemyia kit from japan not available in the states possibly the only one in the country as they are rare even in japan.. it is a lot of fun to drive 8500 rpm limit and sounds crazy and it puts down 530 to the wheel on race gas out of a 1.3 liter rotary. im sure it wount compare to the gt but it is still fun. the car was featured in some magazines here are some pics
