Dear friends from the USA.

Unfortunately, it seems that, there is no more American planning to come to Le Mans with his Ford GT, for the 24-hour race or for the «*Le Mans Classic*».
It is a pity because in another section of this forum, I have already indicated that after several months of work with the European Insurance Companies, I had founded a solution for the insurance of the Ford GT on the European roads. This solutions required a collaboration with the company providing the Ford GT in the USA.
I received no reaction !

To day, I have a BETTER and COMPLETE solution :
I just received this morning, the results of a long negotiation with Allianz, the largest German company.

Allianz accept to guarantee the Ford GT, agains all risks and damages, including theft, fire, etc.

The conditions can be summed up as follows :

Designated driver over 30 years old.
Deductible : 5% of the declared value.
Franchise during a session on a track : 10% of the amount of damage with a minimum of 5% of the vehicle value.
Duration : 1 month from the date of arrival on French soil.
Flat rate : € 500 for every € 100 000 of assessed value.
( Means for example : € 1 500 for an appraisal value of € 300 000).

To apply for insurance must be transmitted by email and via an Excel file:
- Name + first name of the owner driver
- Birth date
- Date of driving license
- Check on French soil
- Amount of expertise

And supporting documents:
- Car registration
- Recent Expertise
- Driver's license
- ID card

I remind that I still have a few places of complete accommodations for the Le Mans Classic.

More informations on request.

Best regards From France.

This is great news!!

Does anyone have any shipping thoughts from the US? Is there still time?

Thanks Francis.

Unfortunately it is now too late to attempt to secure all the necessary other needs for shipping the cars to Europe in order to attend the "24 Heures du Mans." If this information had been available a year ago, the planning might have been different.

With this information, perhaps we can start the process to come over next year for the race. However, as the "Le Mans Classic" only occurs every 2 years, it is truly unfortunate that this information was not available last year.

Can you give us the name of a contact at Allianz that we can deal with in the future?

Thank you again for the information!

Ralphie

I discovered this surprising insurance problem, last November 20, on the Forum. No one had mentioned it before !
Obviously being not a specialist in this matter, I looked in all directions, and received refusals from everywhere. But, it did not disheartened me !

On February 18, I received a first solution and detailed it on the Forum.
But nobody seems to be interested.

Because I am stubborn, I still continued to search, and I arrived to the solution explained today.
Sorry if it is too late, but it is not my fault.

For years to come, anyone interested could take contact with me, at the right moment.

Best regards from France.
