These are applied with water and clear coat finish on top of them. I haven't heard of anyone having a problem on the ones that are installed.

John - I have a 2011 ShelbyGT500 Mustang. It is black...The hood has a (approx ) 5 inch by 24 inch air vent that allows hot air out of the engine. The vent is black so it is not terribly obvious. But, I was thinking of making it look like carbon-fiber just like the seat buttons. It would add a touch of uniqueness to the Mustang. Have you ever heard of or done one of these? any issue with engine heat?
