Go For It?

Mr. Jory - you correct it is "just a car".

That said - buy one. If you enjoy cars - you'll be in 7th heaven in a GT.
A perfect vehicle - well no it isn't. But then again it is. You'll not find a more appreciated vehicle. That is true for those on the inside it and those that are only on the outside.

The eveness of the balance vs performance is superb. As you have read here, and more than likely elsewhere, the joy and pride of that went into this car by the GT crew at Ford is second only to the Joy and Pride that "we lucky few" have as owners.

The beauty of the GT is much more than skin deep.

But it will look very, very, nice in your garage. Home or work.

Buying an expensive car, no matter what your income level, isn't an easy thing to do. Yet of those that have stepped up to the GT plate, nearly all felt they hit one out of the park.

You only get a few chances in life to truly do something special. Owning a GT is one of them. I'm sure you'll never regret your decision, unless you choose not to buy one.

Jory:

We tend to look for validation of our desires so that we may justify our decisions.

If you spend about $20k for an automobile, there is no true justification.

It sounds as though you have worked hard for the successes that you have realized. Unfortunately, that is also not a justification.

You likely are a good and moral person. Nope...does not help.

You are unquestionably fiscally responsible and may hope that this will justify the purchase. Not likely.

For some the purchase is a financial stretch; for others, it is a quite meaningless expenditure.

Ultimately, you have to decide if it will have meaning in your life, if it will enrich your existence and if you would prefer to invest yourself in this particular object.

It is neither a deal, nor a steal, nor an investment. It is just a car; in many ways a great deal less of a car than a Honda Fit.

But...if you want it....then arguably, that is all that will ever matter.

Post photos when it arrives...and, oh, by the way, you will buy it.
