Good evening:

I have a '06 Heritage GT with about 500 miles on it. Just noticed "oil" residue on the underbody panel below the engine. Two questions....has anyone experienced leaks? Also, does anyone have any positive or negative experience with the service department at Capistrano Ford in San Juan Capistrano? Or can you reccomend an Orange County or San Diego County Dealership for GT service?

I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Beverly Hillls Ford may be too far for you....but I've had Rick Boisdeaux service my GT and know others on the site have had their GTs there also.

Unfortunately yes - after 1800miles! Was the crankshaft seal. My GT buddy has the same problem...

Good luck with you dealer research!

Make the sure the oil you found is not oil from the transaxle vent. I just changed my oil and found residue in the pans from the transaxle vent (now fixed).

Good Morning THE1GT! I also live in San Juan Capistrano. I have a friend who has purchased many cars (not exotic or high performance) through Capistrano Ford with good luck. I am just not sure they are set up for specialized and/or high performance mechanics and knowledge. I purchased and would only have one dealer ever work on my GT and that would be Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park. Eric Romanoff is the manager of the specialty and high performance division. These gentlemen have spent a great deal of time researching the GT as well as driving it and have more knowledge about this car than anyone I have talked to yet. You may want to give Eric a call and talk to him about this problem. I must add that I have been working with cars my whole life, I am a very good mechanic, know many great mechanics, but will not let anyone touch my GT except Ken Grody. Good Luck!

Thank you all for the input!

I was told Saleen in Irvine is an authorized repair shop - s/b a 30 minute drive.

If Saleen Irving is only half as good at the Troy shop take it there. They need to have a TX shop.
