This months Playboy has an excerpt from a new book GO LIKE HELL, about the GT40s rise at Le Mans.
Its based on over 30 interviews and gives a more grittier/colorful take on the Henry Ford II/Enzo battle, than the usual dry history in other prior books...from stripper tents at Le Mans infield, to Shelby barbs at the Old Man, to temps inside car reaching 140 F....to this blood boiling quote from the Ferrari pits:
"After all", joked Ferrari's stateside rep Luigi Chinetti, "The best American sports cars is the Jeep, no?"
Also, Film rights to Go Like Hell were recently optioned by 20th Century Fox in a major deal.
