Grand-Am - Miller Motorsports Park. From this angle, ride height compared to the DPs made it look like a 4X4.

As I recall, it was challenging to keep up with her.

I think it is amazing that a four year old car is used as a pace car for one of the premier racing series

The GT was, and remains, 'A Pace Car For An Entire Company'. Heck, Bill Ford and Alan Mulally still autograph the original GT promo posters.

As strong as the Mustangs brand is (SVT, CS, Shelby, GT, Boss et.al), they are Mustangs. One day the another low compromise/high performance product will come from Ford. But it will not have the legacy of the GT marque.

GT Pace Car came from Miller Collection.

They sent the #17 Daytona Coupe to the Kirkland (Wa) Concourse d'Elegance. And it garnered a First Place award for "old" Ford GT's and Race Cars grouping. Jon Shirley's Midnight Blue was first in the "modern" GT group.

The modern GT group had 10 cars in it. Forum members Tom Cantrell and Jim Lunz both had their GTX1's there, Richard Griot had his "flawlessly clean" Heritage and forum member Gerald Greenfield has his "never been wet" wonderful '05 1500 mile Red GT entered. Gerald was the Chief Judge for this event. And Peter Brock was the Honorary Chief Judge and wrote a wonderful multi-page article in the Concourse booklet on the Sheblby American race car program and the development of the Daytona Coupe program. I'm trying to get an "e" copy to post here.

At the end of the day on Sunday they lit off the Daytona Coupe and drove it to the garage area. Ooh my gawd what a wonderful sound that car produces. as Clint said " That Made My day".
