I think if on preliminary look the car appears correct, you might be able to negotiate a deal contingent upon its passing a detailed PPI at your expense. At that time, you might be able to arrange for an expert to fly out, look at it on the dealer's shop lift with the belly pans off, and do a joint test drive. If the selling dealer won't accept it, move on. What initially looks like a good deal can very quickly become a very expensive mistake. I personally would not hesitate to spend a $1000+ on a detailed expert PPI before buying a $125-175k car.

mherman is almost right - buy it AND DRIVE THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!! Looking back however is recommended - for the flashing blue light thingies that appear from time to time

Well, I drove one for the first time yesterday. I was amazed at how incredibly smooth the car was. Its definitely not my Gen IV viper. The car looks great and has no stories. We are trying to hammer out a final price with my benz as a trade in. Im Excited. btw thanks for all the positive input. Great place here!!!

Thanks Jim, really appreciate it.

When I was buying mine. Shelby from Elite Autos advised me to go to a local FOrd dealr with the VIN# and ask them in the Service department to run an Oasis Report on the GT. This will give you a broader backround than CarFax but still do a CarFax too.

Good luck and enjoy.
