Fire extinguisher mounting

sounds like you need a tube of that glue the guy on tv uses to glue the hammer on the ceiling!!!

I wonder if one would fit between the drivers seat and the door? I think I have adjusted my seat twice. Once for driving without a helmet and the other with both done with the door open. Make a quick release so you can pull it with the left hand .. and just yank it forward.

Its a thought.

I've never been a fan of the passenger floorboard. My harness is usually so tight I can barely make the radio much less the passenger seat front.

I mounted mine to the floor, but in order to do that, I had to dismantle the piece you showed in your picture. I only used the small u-shaped part. The large back plate got put in the scrap box.

My floor mount looks like this.

By the way, I have not been able to race with my floor mounted fire extinguisher because my driving instructors have been tall. They’ve all had to move the seat forward and then recline in order to give themselves enough headroom.

I'd say they sent you the wrong mount. I have both the passenger floorboard mount and the console mount and neither one looks like your pic.

Wait for a reply from Safecraft and they will make it right.

I like your set up. I wonder if a bracket could be made that mounts to the seat instead of the base so the extinguisher could move back and forth with the seat? Since I am also tall I have plenty of room in front of my seat and could likely get away with mounting it on the drivers side.... if mounted to the seat.

but then likely I could not get it out because of the wheel ... oh well. It was a thought.

Bingo! I talked to them today. They are sending the correct mounting plate. Just a mix up.

Can you share a name and phone number - I just received mine, and it looks like the one which you also received....

Thanks, Ralphie

I don't remember the gentleman's name but he did not hesitate to send the new part once we decided I had the wrong mount. I made several calls, over three days (only leaving one message) before I got a real person on the phone... so keep trying.

Fubar -

I called and talked to Steve at Safecraft, and he said that he would send me the correct bracket also. Thanks again for your assistance.
