FGT being driven by the Stig at the Top Gear track

I was watching Top Gear yesterday, in which they timed the track time for the F430. It came in at 1:22.9. Then, when Clarkson was putting the time on the board, I couldn't help but to see FGT 1:21.9! Well, I'd thought I must have watched all the available Top Gear shows on Youtube, so I did a search, but couldn't find the show in which they had the Stig to time his lap time. Has anyone watch that particular show? Does anyone have a link where I might be able to watch the lap?

thx

Ed, did you happen to watch this on BBC America? If so, the episode is from several years ago. I'm a Top Gear Fanatic, and have tons of episodes on my computer (the real ones from UK TV. It is BY FAR, the best car show EVER). The best place to get the "real" episode is a website called FinalGear.com. And to watch them, you have to have a bit torrent program.

A good program is Bit Comet. Its a free program, and easy to use. You download the bit torrent file and then watch the show, as shown overseas, with no commercials. You even get to see the "Star in a reasonably priced car" (sometimes they don't air them). Just remember, when you do download the show, it can take a few hours to do, as you are getting the shows via a seed from other computers. This way, Finalgear.com doesn't charge a dime for any of the episodes. No bandwidth to use up on the program files. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I download the newest episodes every Sunday around 6 pm EST, during the seasons (spring/summer and fall). :cheers

Ok, thanks for the info, I'll give it a go. Although, I am a little suprised that the show is not on Youtube.

Yes, I figured it was a re-run because they talked about the F430 as if it was a new model....

I have that show, but unfortunately can't copy it or make it available because it's on a Sky thing hard disc what-not.

I've just reviewed it and the result was:

McClaren Mercedes - 120.9
Ford GT - 121.9
Ferrari 360RS - 122.3

The comment made was that the McClaren costs three times more....

EDIT

This is the episode it came from - but the clip doesn't include the Stig test.

Also, the Ferrari clipped the tire barrier and had rubber along whole side....so, he was pushing it to max.

Thought F cars had all that f-1 technology, flappy, geometery , etc, guess not

I am going off of my memory here, but wasn't the FGT run made on a very wet track? If so, imagine the time on a dry track day. Still, a very impressive run.

Okay, this is the video I was thinking of:

Wasn't it though. So funny. :lol Those people waiting behind them looked seriously P.O.ed:biggrin

To our UK brothers.

If any of you have a pullied GT with good road racing tires. Would it be a good idea to get it on the show and see what a the GT could do at the Top Gear track?

I think Neilda knows Jeremy????

Tell the boys it's all possible for very few sheckels and a stock GT.:thumbsup

How about a whipple or TT with PS2 or Potenza tires?

1:18?

It won't happen. The GT is old news. You can rent the track and set a time yourself if you want, and if you picked the right day (and had the phone number for someone who dresses all in white ;)) someone else would set a good time.

Would never make the show though.
