I haven't heard this question asked yet so I'll apologize in advance if it has been on this board. How many female GT owners are out there? I mean real female owners, not the guys who say I bought it for my wife and she let's me drive it all the time! I can't imagine their are many but I'd be curious to find out if their are any at all...Dan

Technically, if you live in a community property state, then there is quite a bit of female owners.

Best divorce joke:

Instead of getting married, find a woman you don't like and give her a house.

You're HALF right! SHE'S ONLY SUPPOSED TO OWN HALF OF IT!!!! (supposedly ... but don't bet on her "half" stopping at THAT if the courts get involved) :rofl

Confucious Say...

Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cathouse

Husband who sleep in cathouse by day, sleep in doghouse by night

Thanks for all the informative responses guys...

Hi Dan,

I'm a female & am on here since the GT is my favorite car. However, I don't have one...yet. Haven't heard of other females that have bought them, but I could be wrong.

Good for you MJ, I hope you own one someday! Their are lots of them in Florida and lots of nice owners down there too! Best of luck to you...Dan

I live in a community property state (CA), but bought the GT with separate property from before marriage, so technically it's probably separate property, until we designate or characterize it as community property. Of course, I am not a divorce attorney and could have it all wrong.

My wife is not a big car enthusiast, so she doesn't care either way. In our pre-purchase discussion, she asked only two questions, "How are you going to pay for it?" and "I don't lose my parking space in the garage, right?"

I'm just lucky that she let me purchase one. So, no complaints. And I truly hope that we never have to find out who owns it. I'd like it to go to my toddler son someday...He's a big fan of rides, moreso than my wife.

My wife had fun on the Temecula to Palm Springs cruise and overnight.

She actually swapped spaces with me later, when I demonstrated how difficult it is for me to open the door with the parking space next to the left wall.

Susan I. is the designated GT driver here. So technically she has at least 51%. She is a car buff and loves the GT. She's been my bride for 25 years this Dec. :thumbsup

When are we going to meet, one of my friends met you at a car show... lets go for a ride! :banana

Got 8 years on yah and still counting... she doesn't know how to shift, tried to teach her and it wasn't pretty..

I tried to teach my wife on my 1996 Mustang Cobra, and it was pretty ugly too.

Others have tried, even a professional, on other cars, with no success.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise...

The GT is really my husband's car (although I'm excited about it and encouraged him to get it), but he's rather protective of her. I told him that if anything happens to him, the GT will become my daily driver. He's verrrrrry carefull in everything he does now. :biggrin

My dad has one...so technically i dont...yet...but in a few years, after some hard work (graduating college & getting a job...or a rich husband) ill get one :)

Bony,

The secret is -- teach your ladies to drive a stick shift in her stocking feet, no shoes, (bras & panties are optional). Seriously, they need to feel the vibrations of the clutch, and they get the hang of it very quickly. TLC too helps.

And, if you still can't make her happy, try the Vibe Rider at www.viberider.com 877 842-3743.

For those of you trying to teach stickshift, find a Chrysler Crossfire. I've never been in a manual car easier to drive than that.

Looks like 1

On the American Supercar series on Travel Channel (a bit lame, way too much focus on Viper) there was one female owner.

Re: demographics Looked like she was 50ish; goodnews for the 70+ crowd in our bell curve.
