Any one use these guys?

They said they shipped 100+ GTs (knew that can't open doors in trailer, needs to be winched in; no incline bed, use double-deck to drive in flat & load). Sounded like car guys. Hagerty and most of Auction sites (Kruse, etc) recommend.

Anyone use these guys? any issues? or technical/insurance fine print?

Seem same price as Horseless carriage arounf $1000 on easter seaboard for 300mi.

Sounds expensive.

If you want first class personalized service from a real car guy at competitive rates, call Gary Almond. He's a member here and has a web site. You cannot do better -- period.

The companies you've mentioned are very good at what they do. Horseless delivered my Viper Comp Coupe (3 inch ground clearance) and did a great job. Also don't forget Inter-city Lines out of Mass. They are very well respected in the industry and I've had great success with them also. Also don't forget that s___ happens and it's likely that anyone using outside vendors to move their car is subject to an incident. If you have the ability, move it yourself. Dan

BOB PASS is the prexy, former owner, used to be called Passport. A car collector and first class guy who runs a first class company. My favorite is Fred Koller of Concours Transport out of Vegas.

I've used FedEx Custom Critical, formerly Passport Transport, for years. They have shipped a lot of Jaguars for me and I have never had a problem. Some of the Jaguars were XJ220s that have less ground clearance that a GT and like the GT straps around the lower control arms are not allowed. Their drivers have always been very knowledgeable and willing to listen to my concerns.

Kayvan, I'm sure they'll do this anyway, but wheel straps only!!! They will go through a spoke on each wheel and ratchet it down using the rim as the tie down point. They usually have padded straps bot you might want to place some soft towels between strap and wheel. I've moved cars for years and this is the only way a GT should be tied down. Also keep the car in nuetral with e brake on.
