Early Cars, Clips on Rear Hatch By Window

Sorry to revive this thread, but does anyone know if these clips are removable? I need to repaint one of them and don't want to respray an entire section of the clamshell just to paint this tiny part. Perhaps someone with a service manual that can see if this is possible? Thanks.

Pretty sure I asked Rich about these and I believe they are epoxyed on.

I emailed Rich and this was his response. Sheesh. Lot more involved than I was hoping.

On the clips they are only held on by one pop rivet. In order to get to them you have to remove the air intake screen inside the clamshell, then the clamshell window bezel has to be removed then you will see the clip. You will have to peel the black tape back about an 1" to see the rivet. Drill it out and it will come off from there. On all of our repaints we have to do this if the car has them.
