Does the GT Salvage math work?

Without Frame damage, castings or subframe, seems like price of every body panel is somewhat fixed +/- $100

If you have a good engine, transaxle and suspension seems like math could work....

Per below, parts cost of every signle panel is ~$55,000

Approx Parts / pricelist (from another post)

Chassis 108,000 list/80000 (body shop)
Doors 7400
fenders 4500
hood 3700
bumper front 1400
rear 1000
clamb 16000
door glass/window trim drivers side 4000.00
head lights 3500
front bumper support 2700
rear bumper 2500
rear bumper brace/clamb support 1590
rear bumper support 800
tail lights 1000
rear diffuser1000
trans 14000.00
rear window 1300
seats 6000
wheels 4000-6000
rear clam window 1200
vents and other misc clam pieces 2000.00
trans x memeber 1300
head light brackets 400
rear innner fenders and plastic 800
windshield 800

While the sale price of Heritage GTs seems to be acceleralting at a +10,000-25,000 delta

Only variable is labor, which I believe x2 can ballpark...

Whats entry point for rebuildable Salvage and parts for front aand rear clips?

These auction all list <$100,000K for Salvage

Would it be best to buy two that can construct one with mostly wrench work?

Might it not work all over now that vehicles get salvaged for the most minor of damage, and the base price even for a red car is north of 200K? Salvage titles on a properly reconstructed cars will become more common. I mean, remember that those guys in Texas rebuilt a F40 and got 900K for it.

I looked at the first site. Damn! That's a lot a wrecked GTs! I had no idea that that many salvage cars were advertised. Then again, if they're $50Gs and up, thats a lot of scratch sitting around.

So, um...what does it take for them to describe a wrecked GT as NON-repairable?

When I hear that 40% of all GTs have suffered some form of substantial damage it sounds hard to believe. But visiting this site makes it easier... :(

If you mean, 'what does it take for an insurance company to decide to total a car rather than repair' it is if the cost to repair is more than 70% of the difference between actual cash value and salvage value of the wrecked car. With salvage wrecks selling for 100k, it does not take that much damage to get a GT totaled. Rear end tap that cracks the clamshell will usually do it.

More than likely it has to be be frame damage it looks to be the most expensive part
