Do the math before buying a wrecked GT

One other thing to think about is with the frames being this much people are going to have to part out frame damaged cars instead of fixin them due to the cost of the frame and this is going to make less of these cars out there. For what the parts cost to fix these cars the cars should be way over the $200000 dollar range.

'Zactly. :cheers

The boys from New Zealand redid their frame. There are some pictures on this Forum of it.

It would be interesting to know what a perfectly good GT parted out would bring. And no my frame is not for sale :rofl

The car I was talking about is here in the Detroit area. it got hit on the front wheel and cleaned off the front end. I don't know where the prices will go but I know from real experience dealing with Boss 429 cars that there for awhile the parts were worth far more then a complete car. Not now of course with the prices $200K-500K on a B9. Like the guy in Russia I beleive paid $40K+ for a wrecked GT. that was a great deal in my humble opinion. Not sure about repairing a GT frame. it's an extruded aluminum frame which is basically like how a storm door frame is made. (a little nicer and heavier of course) As mentioned above, it can be repaired but you're betiting your life on the quality of the repair. your whole life and whole car is riding on the frame. But there again, I've also been watching to purchase a used FR500C Mustang and there isn't a used one out there that hasn't been punched and repaired somewhere. all just my opinion

Good luck finding a repaired salvaged FGT for 70 - 85K.

Not saying you'll easily find one but you can. You will need to buy an un-repaired one and get it fixed. But if you are going to spend min $100k on a salvaged one, spend the extra 30-40k and get a clean one. Better value in the long run.
