Do original oem tires become unsafe after a number of years?

I don't see a Michelin Pilot Super Sport that is close to OEM diameter. Goodyear 315/40-19 = 28.9". Michelin 345/30-19 = 27.2". About 6% shorter. What size are you looking at?
 
The fronts are 265. My car is stock ride height.

This is good to know. How does climate play into the choice of tire? I live in a wetter, colder climate. Should this factor into my decision?
 
I think every ultra high performance tire nowadays comes with a warning about temps under 45 degrees F.

Having said that, the Bridgestones are probably the single biggest performance improvement you can make.

I want to say $1300/set of 4 shipped to your door from TireRack. They also confirmed freshness before shipping. Mine were less than 3 months old.

Make sure to go 265 in front and 345 in rear. As mentioned above, those are just a tiny bit wider than stock and fit without interferences or sticking out. See jcthorne's picture a few pages back.

They are great performing and looking tires
 
Just got mine first of the month $1550 delivered to Ga.
