Database errors

The forum has been down a few times. I get a long delay after the cloudflare and then it says something like unexpected database error

This usually means some kind of corruption.

Another forum, club cobra, started with similar events and eventually the corruption got so bad they eventually shut down (there may have been secondary reasons but the database problem was never resolved and just happened more and more frequently)

You might want to look deeper at why this happens since it has occurred 3 or 4 times now.

I've seen that a number of times, too, over the past week or more I think ... rough guess. Oh, but I will say, when I get the Unexpected Database Error here, I think usually (always?) the GTD forum also won't load ... so maybe it's actually a server issue if they're on the same server. I wouldn't think the 2 forums would share a single database? I know nothin' about nothin'. Just guessing.

Is "Data Based" engine supercharged or twin turbo?

Option on GTD? ( Maybe one reason it costs $400K? )

Nope. I think its dead. The ip address linked in the dns is no longer reachable. I think i saw he pulled the plug on his other sites too. I think it would be impossible to bring it back b because anyone that tried to transfer the database file woukd have the same problem. The tables are tangled and need to be rebuilt...

I've tried talkcobra but don't like it much. Too much stuff about politics, women, etc. At least Club Cobra had strict limits on acceptable topics.

They had a rule change. No more girls.... Politics is still open with rules.

This forum has had "unreachable" periods over the past few weeks. Sometimes Cloudflare can't get through to the server. I don't know when it got alive again, but when I checked forums yesterday afternoon this forum got the cloudflare error but the GTD forum (which does not have cloudflare but I think are hosted by the same server) was also unreachable. Sometimes this forum is down but GTD is up...

Does this one continue to get flooded or is there a bigger problem lurking? The previous database errors and the frequent downtimes remind me of the beginnings of the failures of the Cobra forum which slowly ate its own tail until it's down more than up.

By the way, after a long period of totally off the air (ie, the IP address shut down) the Cobra forum does make an appearance every once in a while again. The IP address is there but more often than not you get a database error when trying to open it...

I hope this forum doesn’t melt down. After being a member for over 20 years…the collection of information here is invaluable, especially with the 05/06 cars.
