Crickets…all I hear are crickets!!!

So still being a relatively new owner I was wondering. Is the site going to go into temporary mourning for the days of the Rally with posts trickling to a minimum? Will I have to spend my daily computer time listening to the crickets in my yard, or will news still flow in from Vegas while the rest of us whimper into our beverage of choice trying to gamely man the homefront? :confused

Inquiring minds want to know what to expect for the next few days. Ahhh the heck with it, I am just going to spill a beer on my laptop so I can do the sour grapes routine. :frown

Seriously though, I love Vegas and you guys are going to have a ridiculously great time. Hope you guys have the best Rally ever!!!!:cheers

As one who said to himself (after missing half of last years rally - in my back yard) - "Self" don't miss next years rally. Here I sit in OC reading a post from someone else who is going to miss it also. :frown

Your Idea of killing the computer to mask the void that the GT form this weekend has some merit. But come late Sunday or Monday morning I like you would be trying to set up a new system to log back in and find out what I missed.

I think I will go to the LCL stake house, pull up to the parketing attendent and say "No thanks" I'll park it, go in an have good drink and say again "Self" don't miss next years rally :thumbsup

If this rally is anything like the last two, there will be posts to keep the non-attendees informed. Within hours of events there are generally photos posted.

Expect things to be slow until late tonight as everyone is arriving as I type. Cars to clean & stuff to unload...I'd say only about 30% of the expected GTs are here in the garage as of a few minutes ago. The PHX group has yet to check in. Makes me wonder how I beat them pulling a trailer up from PHX. I did leave an hour and a half earlier, but still...

I think there are enough of us who had other commitments this year and did not make the trip to LV that we could probably keep ourselves amused.

Beware of holding hands with EP ... I'm not sure about that "manly way" ... you know he WAS in the Navy. :wink

From my room on the 25th floor I have a great view of Mandaly Bay Road (old Hacienda) looking down the Strip. For the past couple of hours, every time I take a look out the window, I see groupings of GT's. Very colorful. They look like toys from this height. The highway "tunnel" between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay has a lovely echo to it. Open GT pipes reveal themselves every now and then, prompting a glance from yours truly. Every color so far and more cars than I would have expected this early. It's also obvious when the luggage van (white van with trailer) is in tow!

Oh, I AM going to 'Vegas...9/22-9/29 as per the origional Rally dates. 'Had the 'rezervees' for months.

But when the dates were changed, I couldn't 'figger' out an ACCEPTABLE way to both keep an eye on work being done here at the house (which was also set up months ago) and be at the Rally at the same time.

Superman I ain't. (Though I can easily understand how some would think that! :rofl:rofl:rofl)

My wife caught me as I was beginning my pour.....:beer2:.....no, not that pour but the one that was supposed to fry my defenseless computer. She plexiglassed my keyboard :biggrin so for better or worse I am back on-line for the duration.

I think this one kills me a little more because I actually have a place in Vegas and the dates just didn't work :bang:bang.

Okay...all I can say is thanks for the replies....my strength is restored. EP, thanks for the Manly support.....just throw in a :slap every now and then so people know it is just friendly handholding.

But I have made one decision....I am driving my GT everyday the rest of the week till the Rally is over. It won't be as good as being there....but I know it will make me feel better :cool ...Alright, I almost feel back to normal.
