The really painful thing was that there was nothing in it. They did thousands of dollars of damage trying to break into the trailer (unsuccesfully) and even if they had gotten into it, there was nothing there to take but some tie-downs.
In a case like that you'd pbly be better off simply leaving the trailer UNLOCKED...and take the tie-downs with you. 'Not SUPER likely even a crack head would waste his time messing with it once he saw there was nothing of value inside. ('Same principle at work as a store leaving the cash register
