One point that I would respond to here is that the value of the car being "chopped" and the value of a factory approved upgrade which is listed in the NADA appraisal guide as a new, and even more rare version of the car are two entirely different things.

As we all know, there is a vast difference between a kit that a local shop can do and a low number production run that the maker of the car helped to facilitate.

I also wish that the writer hadn't made such a big deal about Mark dropping out of HS.. I try to use our position as frequently as possible to inspire kids to try for their dreams, but always encourage education first and foremost. It is true that Mark didn't get his HS diploma, but I don't think that was a key to his success. Having worked with Mark for about six years, I can say that it would have helped him to have completed that at least where communications are concerned. A person can succeed without a diploma, but I try to avoid encouragement of such.
