Borla problems

When I had the seams of my Borla rewelded I had no indication of internal baffle damage; nor do I have any now. That being said, I can never be certain that this first generation Borla is perfect on the inside.

used borla exh. on other cars and have a 90% very unhappy rating will not use them and cust that bring them to us to install come back with problems

I have to say that Borla is a great company! After my earlier post, I contacted them and even though I am not the original purchaser and did not have the receipt, they replaced the muffler at no cost to me. They even paid for the shipping to send the new one and to return the old one. In fact, they used the last Ford Racing embossed sheet they had and built a muffler for me, even moving it up in their production schedule so I could have it earlier. Ryan Pond and I installed it last weekend and it sounds much better, no rattles. It was interesting to see the differences in construction, there are no edge welds now, the end seams are overlapped. As far as I am concerned, Borla is the best and I recommend them absolutely.

Well, when I got my car two years ago, Rich Roback did the PPI and told me the Borla had a rattle-but it had no external problems. Today I noticed that it now has a nice even 3-4" crack in the weld along the top left side. So, I need to contact someone at Borla to find out what they are willing to do about it. Unfortunately I'm not the original owner and don't have the receipt .....

I like the muffler (nice and quiet at highway speeds, good sound accelerating), but depending, I might go to an X-pipe to reduce heat and weight.

We'll see next week what I learn about replacing it. Does anyone know who to call?
