While the Ecoboost if the Raptor is pretty amazing cannot even imagine a 7.3 .... and then a SC option.

And in a Mustang it would certainly be exercising some DEMONS!!!

Could be a 1000HP beast....

John Hennessy will have this thing knocking at 1500HP!!!

A few changes to block material and it could be doable....

Way to go Ford!

My bet is any performance development will only happen in the aftermarket and Ford won't be putting one in an assembly line Mustang anytime soon.

I was shocked to see a pushrod engine being built at all.

Cool old school motor and lots of power potential for sure. But it would add a lot more weight to the front of the Mustang and or Raptor.

I believe that motor is replacing both variants of the V10.

It's my understanding that the new 7.3L gas engine is for those truck owners they want to have diesel towing power without the upfront costs (and associated reliability troubles) of a diesel engine. They aren't cheap and the fuel economy difference isn't near what it once was. Emissions standards are very difficult for diesels now, the easy days of the original Powerstroke are long gone.
