ford of Australia is ending their production line.
sure wish Ford would build that Falcon here and move their racing parts division ( FPV ) here as well. they make some really cool parts.

Sad, but time marches on. I'm sure Ford figures they can sell just as many global products there.
 
Very Sad times, GM Holden also going next year. they can only sell around the 20,000 of Falcons and Commodors, per year. There are over 75 different makes and models available here in Australia, divide that by our population, and then the Gov cut Tarrifs, so another 50,000( with spin off manufacturing) loosing their jobs. Our Gov does not even have a buy Australia policy, I believe our armed forces uniforms are made in China.
 
I was privileged to have a guided tour of that factory about 10 years ago by one of the management there. Sad to see it go. Wonder what that will do to their unique Touring Car racing series; Fords vs Holdens were a great rivalry.

I'm sorry to learn about the Australian factories closing. They had been around for 90 years but time marches on. It's not the end of Fords in Australia but it is the end of Australian made Fords.
