I think you just helped me make a decision. My primary camera is a D700. My D100 is a spare body but it's been acting up an the repair cost isn't worth it (a shame). I just carry when I need to have two lenses available or as a less expensive backup body for conditions in which the D700 might be at risk. Looks like the D300s is an excellent candidate!

FYI, my third backup is the F2 i bought in 1972 or so (yes, all the lenses still work) but finding good film is hard these days. No more Kodachrome... The color saturation and dynamic range on a couple of your shots show why film is on the way out.
