Are all trickle chargers equal?


Harbor Freight sells a simple floater charger for about $5 a pop.....I use about 10 of them.....cheap, simple, and have never had one fail. I usually cut the clips off and solder the 2 contact trailer style plug on there. It's not fancy, it just does the job.....
 
Appreciate the input! Any comments on original question from our tech gurus? Seems many are using trickle chargers. Is there a difference for long term care between the 2 different types of chargers?
 
A trickle charger has no "intelligence" and may therefore overcharge the battery if left on indefinitely. You want a float charger. I'm not sure what the OEM charger is. Help anyone? You'd certainly think it should be better than the $5 float chargers that are easily available......
