Any non-radio listeners here?

I routinely never listen to the radio. I

I started in the beginning keeping it off to be in sync with RPMs, gear shift/transaxle engagement/notch sounds, etc. now I just never listen at all.

Seems crazy b/c it cost more than all my home systems combined.

Heard 911 guys always do this. :cheers

My radio is always off when I am driving the car.
But I do use the clock.
But for 4 grand it should reset itself when going off daylight savings time.

Who's got an upgrade on the clock?

Radio Useage

Kayvan - very seldom is the radio on in my car. < 1% of the time.

Greatest music is coming from the engine department.

Radio?

NEVER use the $4,000.00 McIntosh Radio, don't even know if it works.

However, I do use the AUX input with IPod for car-tunes, approx 50% exaust & 50% IPod.

Turned it on twice in a year, 1st time just to see if it worked, second time was an hour and a half trip with my 6 year old. He asked to listen to music.

Engine note is waaayyyy to good to be watered down by music.

There's a radio in the car? :lol

I always listen to the stereo, but only in my other cars. To be quite honest, if I did not have to reach all the way forward to turn up or down the volume, I would probably use it. It sucks how they put the stereo so far forward in this car.

I have the stock Sanyo radio.

The sound quality is very lacking.

I planned not to use it, but after hearing it, it is really embarassing. So, it is always off. Actually made me rethink my decision not to go with the McIntosh, since the Sanyo and speaker set up is so poor. I really wanted to be able to see the Supercharger pulley though, and I tend not to use the stereo much anyway, unless in an SUV.

But, I've only had one passenger ask me - "how's the sound system in this car?" So, he obviously didn't get the point of the car. Understandable since his stable consists of a Honda Odyssey and Toyota Prius.

Nothing against those vehicles, just glad that they are not in my garage, since they don't do anything for me emotionally.

Syco, while I don't listen to my radio extensively, it can be tuned to put out some very pleasing sounds, especially with the CD player. You might futz with it sometime and make some adjustments so you at least like it. I did.

How many replies will there be to this post before somebody brings up the Big Mac issue?

Thanks, I will put some CD's in it and check the settings.

Big Mac + radio.

I went to McDonalds the other day and picked up lunch via the drive through. I sat in the parking lot with the engine off and listened to the radio while I ate my Big Mac. No issue with the Big Mac but the lack of a cup holder almost led to a disaster with the drink. :eek Lunch finished, I turned the damn radio off, pushed the red button of happiness, and was off.

I'm a little pissed off that our famous GT engineers couldn't have included small depressions (just in front of the seat, under your legs) in the floor pans to hold a drink cup... I mentioned it to one of the GT dudes with Ford while at Mid-America/SAAC/Tulsa this summer... too little, too late... I'm gonna' fab something up for my car.

Not much radio action for me either... the poor reception characteristics, plus the difficult to reach controls, and my disgust with the rediculous sub-woofer placement/look (which I also mentioned to the engineers) keeps my radio use to a minimum... although, I did recently burn a CD (of songs to be used at my memorial service when I pass) and tested it in the GT... it sounded awesome on the Mac...

btw.. I'm not going anywhere soon, at least I hope not... just that I'm the last of my family and I have a pre-need funeral plan all set up to go when the time comes. :frown

I have played a little Steely Dan on the CD player en route to the South of France - but have never listened to the radio. I can't see the point of listening to another phone-in program (which is all we seem to have over here) whilst driving the GT!

Radio?
Do cars still COME with those...?
My car has the McIntosh unit in it ...'owned the car since July('06) ...and 'still don't even know if the darn thing WORKS.
My wife's been intending to bring along a "CD" and play it to see what makes that thing WORTH $4,000...but, neither of us has remembered to DO that to this point.
If I had ORDERED my car instead of buying it off the showroom floor, the Mac wouldn't be in the car and my wallet would have $4k innit.
I listen to the blower whine on the GT ... the Pete Jackson gear drive in my V-8 S10 ... and the Flowmasters on the other stuff... or the piece & quiet of our "push button" cars.

Mardyn - you better start working on an heir to the GT. You want your GT to go to the government when you pass? You've got a responsibility to make sure the GT has a proper owner.

EP - Love the supercharger whine. Absolutely love it.
