I replaced the alternator in my 1966 Shelby GT350. Battery still not charging. Before starting the car the battery reads 12.38v. while the car is running the volts drop (and continue to drop) to 11.89v. The volts at the alternator reads 11.89v and remains at the reading. Any suggestions?

Does that have an external voltage regulator?

May be the problem.

+1 to dud. Alternator should be 13.8 - 14.8 at the alternator, even with a bad regulator.

It looks like that may be the case.
Thanks!
