I have never worked on a car newer than 1971. Then I am mothered with this monster with all the electrical devices (nice electrical connectors), air conditioning, transaxle, supercharged V8, etc. and I'm overwhelmed. With 50 years of working on mostly 50's and 60's cars this GT is daunting. I just want to thank everyone who has helped me sort out this car.

They easy to work on and are built Ford Tough IMO. No magic, as it is a car. Regular services and maybe change the clutch fluid once or twice a year and drive on.. Of course a lot depends on your driving habits. My driver has 76,000 miles on it up here in Canada and has never let me done except last year when I got caught in a snowstorm Nov15th and had to bring her home on a flatbed.. Could drive no further on the 345's Got out the Raptor then next day

You came to the right place for the best advice for sure. I can't imagine there are too many scenarios owners on this forum haven't experienced with the 2005-2006 GT. as mentioned above, the car is built like a tank and there are not too many failure issues other than grounds and gauges. the most important issue is to remember that this car continues it's circuitry by switching on the grounds, not the hot so good ground connections to the frame, especially the negative battery cable end to the frame is crucial to be tight and clean. you have a metal battery cable end bolting to a metal press in insert into an aluminum frame. keep the fluids changed and clean and don't forget to change the supercharger fluid, especially if you have an under drive pulley which spins the S/C a lot faster and a lot more so that fluid can break down quicker than you might think. you'll enjoy thousands of trouble free miles for years to come! it's a great car!

Can you elaborate about changing the super charger fluid. Can I find out how to do that in the manual? Otherwise all the fluids have just been changed.

Pauls,

If you think the '05-06 GT's are daunting and complicated, wait till you get your hands on a 2017 GT.

the supercharger fluid is pretty much a separate maintenance item since it has to be pulled off the engine to change the fluid so it doesn't have to be done all at the same time. Rich Brooks may have a simpler method but he and I have spoke about this and is something that should be done on a higher mileage engine and especially one with the small pulley since it does spin faster and a lot more. it will turn the fluid black after a while.

Oh, Ok. I'll check it out. Thanks.

I don't want to think about it!
