In speaking with Bob Ida he mentioned that a customer and GT Forum member, John B, will be driving in the 24 Hours of Daytona next weekend.
John will be one of the drivers of a brand new 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car in the GT class. It is basically a lightened and gutted out Porsche GT3 with a roll cage, fuel cell, open exhaust and slick tires. It has about 420 hp, weighs about 2,600 lbs, and has a 6 speed sequential transmission. The top speed is about 172 mph on the banking. There will be four drivers in this car; John, a friend of his and two professionals.
Look for the Fast Racing Pirate Porsche with the a big reflective vinyl Jolly Roger on the roof that will be visible on the banking.
