A dealership for used exotics here has the GTX-1 #1FAFP90S56Y400454 VIN and is claimed to have been built for Tom Piana, No. 23/500 supposedly. It's blue with 15,000 miles. Was this one of the "rescue/problem" cars or was it built prior to the problems with the company? Thanks in advance for any help.

Why don't you ask Tom? But, I believe his was an original and they did not build 500 cars.

PM me. I'll give you all the info you'll need. This is one of the original cars.

It looks like this car is going to Barrett Jackson Palm Beach next weekend. Lot #706. The dealership that has it for sale is asking $339,000 on their website.

GTX1 Production "Problem" Vehicles

It's my understanding that your X1 (#23) and mine (#24) were built on the "front edge" of the so-called "rescue/problem" cars. One person who might be able to give a more definitive answer (because he was actually there at Gennadi Design when our cars were produced) is Bernard Guerin, who resides here in St. Petersburg, Florida. His phone number is (727) 687-0981.

FYI, even though a production run of 500 GTX1's was approved by Ford Motor Company (thus the "23/500" on your X1 badge), the total number of GTX1's that were actually produced and sold was 28, or possibly 30, depending upon what counts as a "production" vehicle. I feel confident that GTX1 #23 and #24 are both original production vehicles. But speak with Bernard Guering. He should have first-hand knowledge to answer your question.

Best regards, and best of luck on the sale of your X1.

I saw this car listed on ebay back in December at 295,950.00 and it didn't go? Very special car, maybe the mileage is holding it back?
