All good! I did 11 years active and 18 years reserves (AEDO)...as I navigated civilian companies. Glad you got a GT...you'll love it!

Ford GT's at Cars on 5th

This is a great venue and the GT Family made it even better! I doubt I am bringing the GT...I wonder if they would accept a Ford Excursion WITH THE V10? Anyway, I may still drop in to the show if travels coincide.

Missing all docs except title - still purchase?

Depends on price. Google the VIN to see what comes up. Try taking the VIN to your local Ford dealership and have them look up records.

Any GTs at emerald car show PCB?

I'm doing Cars and Coffee Spanish Fort (West Mobile Bay, Al.)...and Panama City is over two hours from me (Perdido Key), BUT keep in touch when you are headed to the Red Neck Riviera.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I THINK that is how Dan (B.M.F.) did it.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

It is significantly easier on the passenger side after you depress the two tabs and release/remove the contact switch on the bottom.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I know :-(, it took me a good while to get the passenger side too.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

If you inspect it and catch it before the cable becomes unattached. Frankly, I think that a zip tie whether the clip is broken or not might be a good safety measure. Anyway. I'd still like to see a picture of how BMF did his zip tie

Man, THIS looks like the right way to go.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Howard, yours looks EXACTLY like mine did...including the upwards kink in the cable (which I suspect fortuitously kept the lead ball from falling out of the socket). I glued (JBWelded) the donut (what was left of the plastic grommet) to the lever (to hold the cable/ball in place) and then added...

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

That is a great idea (especially taking up/accounting for the slack)...I was concerned that I would affect the free movement of the lead ball (it seems to move about 3/4").

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

See attached driver's side (passenger side is harder to see but its a mirror image, BUT up against the window). The white line is where I initially installed the zip tie but it required more slack/slop to account for the cable/lever movement so I elected to just hold the cable up without...

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I added a little dab of JBWeld (to semi-permanently close the bottom gap) AND a zip tie lasso as a secondary precaution.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

I think I will use zip ties as a redundant safety measure. THANKS!
