Exactly what does "does not fluctuate any more" mean? If the pump is turning, oil pressure must fluctuate with engine speed ....

I found the article in USA TODAY, this morning. I am not a subscriber and was able to read the entire thing. The issue has nothing to do with faulty parts, just faulty installations by Ford dealer mechanics. Cheers!

35K, fluid as specified by Ford and changed regularly. Feed hose sticky etc, return hose dry as a bone.

Thanks very much for your undoubtedly tedious work to find a similar hose! I bought the genuine BMW hose thinking that because it's not a knockoff, it might be a bit larger diameter than the Edelmann you bought. Compared to the Ford original, the BMW hose seems to be .010-.020 inches smaller...

I've had two of the after market ones go bad - the "original" and its (free) replacement. Apparently not a peep from the supplier since last September .....

BUMP I second this. I have had two of these hoses and both have sweated and left black marks when wiped, just like the original. I've seen nothing about this for a long time ....

I got mine from Airaid around 10 years ago. Don't know if they are even available any more.

Oddly enough, a surf shop that builds glass surfboards can fix damaged fins so the repair is invisible. I know, I had several of mine fixed by our local surfboard builder and the repair is undetectable.

I changed both PS hoses last June, using the larger (return) one from Rich and the Motorcraft (smaller) one from Ford. The PS fluid is the specified Motorcraft. I was poking around today under the clam (too much rain!) and that hose ( the larger one) is now sweating fluid and when wiped, leaves...

They look like wood screws. I can't imagine where they might have been used. Could they have been included in your leftovers by accident?

True enough, but the when "the big one" hits the PNW it's going to be an interesting (if unfortunate) test of the hypothesis ...

However, if the power is out you won't be able to get gas either unless you've stored fuel somewhere - pumps won't work.
