    Shocks

Ok those are Ohlins Road and Track shocks. Quite different than the TTX's we do custom.

    Shocks

Most of my FGT customers go for 0.75" lower. Definitely need to readjust toe and camber will be about -0.375 deg more at the front and rear. So camber should just be adjusted if not equal left to right.

    New shocks from Ahlman Engineering

Thank you for your extensive feedback @PeteK. The 4-way adjustable shocks don’t work better for the same curves and they are mainly needed if someone runs at very different types of tracks and changing spring rates. Rough Sebring versus smooth but abrasive Homestead, for example. And yes the...

    Severe wheel hop issue

Understood. I am guessing hard to make a fast launch on an unprepped surface.

    Severe wheel hop issue

That is surprising, but I didn't know the concern in detail, so not the level of wheel hop I have experienced. 500's are stiff springs it seems. Tire wear may affect this coming back, but glad you have it resolved. Are you spinning the tires on a launch?

    Severe wheel hop issue

Yep a lot of guys think toe out at the front is especially better because it is very darty. This is even more the case at the back. These toes actually have less grip ( by a little), are unstable and the car won't follow your hands. I had to prove to my IMSA GS guys toe out at the front was not...

    Severe wheel hop issue

Without doing detailed analysis of that suspension the toe change is unclear...toe should not remotely be noticeable. And toe out or zero toe at the rear is unstable for cornering. He said wheel hop. But most likely both wheel hop and driveline vibration as the caster is changing and wheel...

    Severe wheel hop issue

@Joe Dozzo @GT@50 is correct above. That made up rear suspension with inboard rear brakes needs an upper link to the ~upper balljoint going forward to control the large caster wind up of a high HP car. The little wider a-arm at the bottom is not remotely enough. Don't know what is there to...

    New shocks from Ahlman Engineering

Thank you everyone for the continued great feedback. These are a labor of love for such a great car. Update- I received three more orders early last week. So (6) sets are left of the (20) set run that has taken quite a while.

    New shocks from Ahlman Engineering

Hi All, Thank you for the continued support and endorsements for our Ahlman Performance Stage II Ohlins TTX suspension for the '05-'06 FGT. They are two-way adjustable- compression low speed and rebound low speed and are set for the road. Track and spirited driving we recommend (1) click...

Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

Sort of...ask if you can purchase their solution for the Ford GT cooling challenges at higher RPM/Load. I don't want to give out their design/IP. They saw the problem first hand and found a straight-forward fix. It is not related to fan operation. I believe it is a fix they do for FGT engine...

If you want to stay in the throttle... give Accufab a call and see if they have a solution for you that is relatively inexpensive.

Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

Ha! depends on the track. Lower profile Sport Cup 2's would be better at most places, but your rough Sebring it is tough to say. Our custom Gen 2 Ahlman Performance Stage II Ohlins TTX's for the FGT were finalized on the bigger sidewall Bridgestones. And we call them Stage II as it is still...

    Ford GT goes 310mph

Agreed, well over twice as long for Bohmer and company (Klassless?) to go only 10 more mph at smooth Kennedy Space Center is a long way off of fast compared to M2K's record at the rough Texas Mile...

    Wheel creaking issue

Huh, my R8 wheel bolts (not studs) are 14 mm and the Audi torque is 90 ft-lb with the stock forged aluminum wheels. I check the torque often and run at the track with significant heat cycles and they never back off at all. I don't understand what has happened on the Ford lug joint design.

    Wheel creaking issue

OK, thank you. Standard. Do you guys see many lug nut torques over 100 ft-lbs? 150 ft-lbs seems very high.

    VIR race

Yeah we finished 6th in the Kelly Moss Road And Race Brule' 66 Cayman GT4 at VIR (I race engineer for this 3 race GS car - We took 3rd at Road America - The Kohr Stang/Billy Johnson got DQ'd afterward at VIR for much too large of a fuel cell) ...we were poised to finish second at VIR with 5 laps...

    Wheel creaking issue

Agreed on all...especially your question on their target bolt load (tension). What diameter is the stud? That is a very high lug nut torque. Typical is 90 to 100 ft lbs. If the joint is correct they will not loosen once torqued...unless the torque is actually yielding the stud, the nut or the...
