Car show season is now in full swing and so I'm updating my sign I lay on the windshield so some folks that are clueless know a little more of what is parked before them.
I have included some production stats on my sign and want to be 100% accurate, as much as possible.
What I have is:
1350...
Wow, what a great story regarding the prototypes and how they were to be handled. Also some great memories of the early Rallies, which is just as fascinating to me since I did not come aboard until mid 2009 when I bought my 2005.
(I still have it and I'm original owner).
You can have nearly...
IMO,
Actually the 05/06 GTs are
are 2nd Generation.
BAT wrongly refers to them as 1st.
As follows,
1st Gen: 1964 to 1969 and continuation cars.
2nd Gen: 05/06.
3rd Gen: 2017 to current.
Lots of great advice here and I don't think you can go wrong with either a low or high mile car as they are...
I am very saddened to hear of his passing, way to young. He will really be missed for sure, always had an enlightening perspective and something clever to say.
Let's all go out soon and take one of our cars for a long drive in his honor.
You got that right, ridiculous!
I'm keeping mine as long as the lord allows, driving and driving and then driving some more.
Good thing the 2nd generation GT (05/06) is bullet proof. IMHO with proper and careful maintenance it is a 200K mile plus car.
Before any really major work.
You're welcome indeed.
The GT is way to go for the groceries!
Or dropping of the kids at school
(when it's the busiest of coarse), Beer runs or any other errands you might need to do 🙂
The predictions are coming true.
I heard someone say once....
"Someday you'll say to yourself,
I remember when 05/06 GTs were only a mere 350, or 400 for a Heritage and now they're a Mil plus.
Ah the good ole days"
And that was for the very low mile examples, which now even a few thousand...
Besides Matech Competition and Marc-DVS there was
Robertson Racing;
Third place and a podium in GTE-AM
In 2011, 24 HRS of Lemans.
Started the race in second to last position, lost two laps due to
Paddle Shift issue, still managed consistent performance.
Andrea Robertson drove the last stint...
Multimatic:
The modern day equivalent (sort of) of Fords shunk works 'Kar Kraft'.
Were Ford engineers moonlight and ideas are born and brought to fruition without the restrictions of corporate bureaucracy and the UAW.
You can't build GTDs on an F150 assembly line.
Time to make plans.
Been 5 times and always took the train from Paris to Lemans and my rental car.
This time I'm driving all the way.
It's a blast to drive in France.
My cell GPS worked perfectly.
Just make sure its something like Verizon. STORMCATs suggestion.
