Just about to change out my brake fluid. Ford dealer (Galpin) can't supply the spec fluid. B/O'd. Dumb question but I assume Dot 4 for higher boiling point. Any comments on brand? I didn't see any mention in the threads or maybe I missed something. Thx.

Depends. Read the great threads posted on this site and make sure the technical service bulletin for the rear axle output shaft to inner cv joint work is done to the bulletin spec. I just did mine and the output shaft to inner CV mounting casting bolts broke off with literally no effort at...

Just did mine. The RR CV joint mounting flange to transaxle output shaft bolts broke off from the output shaft with no effort at all on removal. It was about to fail at 2,800 miles! Once easy outed no biggy.

Thanks Pete. The parts manager at Galpin Ford Don Worrell is a good guy but like a lot of dealer guys very much under pressure and not a lot available. I'll keep poking around. Fortunately I'm down to maintenance after a good size project - Dan

Built a lot of collisions as a tech over the years and prefer OE bulletins. Alldata's pretty good though. Couldn't believe how loose the LR nut was. Going to get new in any event and re-check. Thx.

I opened the rectangular wholes just enough to receive Mercedes drip rail plastic nutserts for the 4 OE Ford nutserts that I didn't have. The fitment of the door window frame molding is quite tight. I used 3M strip caulk to fix the position of the OE Ford nutserts as they float depending on...

I carefully cut around all of the old fastener mount landings and removed them from the old door. Careful squeezing from the back side liberated most of them. Some of them just broke though. Very fragile fasteners. Totally agree on the no part number found thing. Thanks for the input!

Hi, I have an account with Ford's OE Repair Link site. Spent long hours on my journey there and on the internet. No go. I've matched up similar with Mercedes drip rails on an older model. May have to modify the holes slightly to accept them. Thanks for the input.
