    Windshield Defroster

In general, I have had this happen on other cars. When driving, I keep switching to defrost, let it sit for 15 seconds then switch to another setting. Keep doing this, they eventually free-up. On my GT, I just make sure I go thru all the settings each time I drive it.

    BBS RIMS

Holy moly !!! Multiple sets selling on BAT for $20,000. Maybe I should sell my extra set and the set on my car for $40,000 and buy some nice after market rims. Maybe the purchaser does not follow thru. Any way to tell if the buyer really sent the money?

Headlight lens can be fine sanded and polished. Your local PPG or other automotive paint store carries UV clear coat in a spray can for UV protection to replace the protection that was sanded off.

    Clutch oil leak

I think I would forget about the oil leak, maybe there is no oil leak. I would focus on getting the car driving and then if there is an oil leak, deal with it at that time. Good luck on getting it driving, you will enjoy it.

    Clutch oil leak

I also would be concerned about it affecting the qualities of the oil. Definitely would not run it long term or under hard use.

    Clutch oil leak

Apparently not. You could do a Google search and find out more. The factories place it in new vehicles in the air conditioning system. I don't think it is paint.

    Clutch oil leak

I have never done this. You can get Flourescent Leak Detector Dye and add to your engine oil. It will then glow at the leak using an ultraviolet or black light. No glow, the oil must not be engine oil.

    Clutch oil leak

Be sure to check if a sleeve is already installed, before trying to insert a new one. Maybe you only need a new seal. I don't know if you can remove a speedi-sleeve on the crank in the engine.

Preemptive Maintenance Tip - Shifter Cables

I zip tied mine also. Then I felt along the cables back into the engine cavity to see what they may now rub on. One of my cables rubbed right on a sharp corner portion of the head. So, I cut pieces of hose lengthwise, placed them on the cables, zip tied both ends and let them lay on the tranny.

Fuel filter, brake fluid and power steering fluid

In reality, you probably don't need to change the fuel filter, PROVIDED, you get clean fuel. I have never heard of a fuel filter element deteriorating. However, I did once experience having diesel filters deteriorate in a large industrial application. So, I do change my filters when getting...

    Whats Latest Battery Advice?

One problem with multiple vehicles and RV's is battery maintenance. Many may disagree, but I have many Harbor Freight charger/maintainers spread around my house and shop. I have used these for years with excellent results. I use the basic charger/maintainer in the link below, they also have a...

    Curious crank damper/pulley movement

Interesting. If you hang the ratchet on the crank bolt, does the ratchet move as well? If so, that would indicate that the crank is moving that much as well, which, I highly doubt. Did you use a dial indicator to measure the play?

    Recommend an OBD II scanner?

Autel and Launch are two full shop capability scan tools. Autel uses an Android tablet. I have the Autel which is now a few years old. It provides the ability to test run most everything, fuel pump(s), intercooler pump, etc. Also, can place systems in maintenance mode, brake bleed/flush...
