    Driver door handle release issue

tmcphail, you described it perfectly except I've had to reach outside a couple of times to open her up. Granted I also did not want to squeeze the inner release handle to tightly for fear of breaking it. I can't say the temp has had anything to do with it but I'll keep an eye on that as well...

    Driver door handle release issue

Hey guys, has anyone experienced a door handle problem? My driver side handle on occasion will not release/open the door. When I reach outside and hit the button opener it works fine. Just wondering if anyone else has has a similar issue. I hate tearing things apart unless it's absolutely...

    Questions from a newcomer

Gascap, I grew up in Port Chester, moved to CT in '98. I did not realize the 430 was that low in price, I thought it was higher. Maybe it was the ragtop I'm thinking about. Their are a couple of threads here that mention build count on different colors, haven't followed it much though! I own a...

    Questions from a newcomer

Gascap what's up? I'm from NY, live in CT now though. Where are you in NY? Well said Neilda!!! Anyway, you're right in saying the visibility is difficult but not at all a big deal in getting use to. Like everything you learn to adjust and if you have areas of discomfort, be concious of those...

Finally I persuaded my wife to.....

On the Harley front - I nearly killed myself 20 years ago on a Z1100, broke spine, pelvis, knee, ankle, two fingers, dislocated shoulder and smashed collar bone. So I'm getting into the Harley idea very gently - however thanks for your thoughts, you're right to remind me. I figure that the...

    Rev limiter

Good info KO and DBT, I was mostly referring to doing a crowd pleasing burnout. I guess dropping the hammer in 2nd or shifting during the burnout would solve the rev limiter issue!

Finally I persuaded my wife to.....

Vince, what about me! :biggrin just kiddin'. Actually you're right, bikes are dangerous and can be devestating as well as our sports cars can be. Remember the Viper thread a couple of weeks ago! I'm sure Neilda will be responsible and safe though... P.S. I never got back to you on that...

Finally I persuaded my wife to.....

Sorry Bony, did not mean to upset the cart, just my preference. Have a ton of friends that own Harley's, good for them (and you), just not for me. I also don't consider my bike a rice rocket, it's old school bad to the bone raw, loud and fast. I've been to countless bike events and even the...

Finally I persuaded my wife to.....

Hello Neilda, I was wondering if you recall what gear you were in and what rpm's you were running when you reached 160! We had a thread going "fastest speed in a GT so far" regarding this matter. A couple of weeks ago I reached 175 and recall being in 5th gear at around 6000 revs. I can't say...

    Rev limiter

Has anyone bounced the tach to the rev limiter and if so did the car have the typical sputtering type of response? Along the same lines would doing this on occassion (let's say doing a burnout in 1st gear) harm the engine, valves or supercharger in any way? Thanks for any feedback offered! :thumbsup

top speed reached in GT so far.

Good feedback guys!!! I will crank this thing up on Sunday morning and record the data @ 6000 in 3rd, 4th, 5th and if I can get their, 6th gear. I will be back at you with actual speeds when running through the shift points @ 6000. My curiousity is peeked! :biggrin

top speed reached in GT so far.

I'm not an engineer CP, and I hear what you are saying regarding the drivetrain but in the same breath wouldn't aero dynamics come into play as well? If I'm driving 160 into a headwind of 20 mph vs. a tailwind of 20 mph, wouldn't that alter the load on the drivetrain? I'm just hoping to...
