Nothing new. This type of scam has been running for many years. First it was wire the money to an escrow company (that the scammer set up with a web site, etc). Then the new ones got lazy and started doing this eBay Motors account scam. Here's the newest one I received in my email spam box...

No. Today's cars components are produced to be compatible with the ethanol blend fuels. In the older (I think pre 1980) vehicles (motorcycles included) some elastomer lines were not compatible and caused problems. Also, carburetors had non compatible components (neoprene) have problems too...
