I agree for the wheel & seats, but a wide sill that you have to climb over and where your dirty feet will often hit (DBK mentioned how trashed a d scuffed the carbon sill cars he's seen are), alcantara sills will be a pain to keep clean.

I disagree. I think it looks great. It's going to be a pain to try to keep the alcantra there clean from shoes and scuffs.

I'd imagine it's a lot easier to slide over a carbon sill and into the seat than a grippy alcantara sill. It sucks that every option is a compromise.

The lugnuts are really close to the center of the wheel, so the benefit in rotational inertia won't be significantly. A 2lb lighter tire will make a far bigger difference.

The "fluffy"ness was worn smooth just in the thumb pocket area. I've seen some really "worn" wheels cleaned up and restored with a brush and proper cleaning. If you're a really sweaty guy and/don't have AC, then the leather might be a better option. It's a personal preference but I really like...

You can always get a set of wheels to drive on and shelve the carbon ones. Heck, Forgeline has an awesome carbon barreled wheel (with forged a aluminum face/spokes) that's pretty awesome looking and FAR less expensive.
