Missing all docs except title - still purchase?

If it recently had $28,000 of work, then I would call the GT Garage and ask their opinion of the car for a driver, or go visit them. Given the recent work, that's about as good a PPI as you could get. Do a Carfax check too. Otherwise, if the price is good, I would buy the damn thing. Then...

    Defuel?

I think "bd" is one of those guys who marries a supermodel, then saves her for the next guy. ;)

    Defuel?

Ask the PO when they last put fuel in it and how long they ran the engine (if you're really anal, I think you can read the engine hours off the ECU through the display, and if you can't, a dealer can). If refueled in the last two years, I wouldn't worry about it. If it starts easily and runs...

New Owner - Recently Arrived in ND

That's the power steering "return hose" to the reservoir, i.e., the low pressure side.

    Throtl FGT Build Series

Excellent video. I am very glad to hear that CSF is making cooling stacks for the GT and a transmission cooler. No more $5000 AC condensers, etc. Of course, we will have to see where the final price ends up.

    Single Post Lift Question

The single post lift has steel legs that go under the vehicle. They can be dug into the floor to keep the floor flat. So don't worry that the vehicle is cantilevered on one side of the lift column.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Thanks to both of you for bringing this issue to our attention, and for the resolution.

Clamshell not unlatching on driver's side

Can either of you post a picture of what broke/slipped? I want to check mine and see if it's worn, cracked, or otherwise about to fail.

    Rear Clamshell Outer Vent. (RH)?

Dan, 3D printing keeps getting better and smoother, and the material options are stronger and more heat resistant than the original ABS plastic. The value of the car is immaterial. Who doesn't like saving money? Frugal habits are how most of us got to the position of owning these cars. FYI...

2006 Ford GT door hinge bushings worn out

Are you sure the hinge bushings are worn? If the car had been damaged, I would look very closely at the hinges.

2006 Ford GT door hinge bushings worn out

Strange. I have 92,000 miles on mine, and the driver’s door is not sagging.

    Rear Clamshell Outer Vent. (RH)?

If John hadn’t already developed the CAD files to make these out of aluminum, 3D printing would be the way to do it now.

    2020 Mk2 on BaT 4/3/25

Seems the curves of resale prices for Gen1 vs. Gen2 were going to intersect sooner or later. We probably shouldn't include the MkII, since it's a track-only car, with a much smaller market.

    Throtl FGT Build Series

Not a lot of fake drama--I appreciate that. Did anyone catch where they got the carbon fiber body panels from ? BMF? Someone else?

    Oil Change

First, ya can't go wrong sticking to the recommended 5Kmi oil changes. Second, I have been doing oil analysis on my car since 30,000 miles (now at 92,000). Based on those results, and using the recommended Motorcraft 5W-50 oil, I have increased my change intervals to 10,000 miles. That may...

    Exhaust upgrade

Calling another exhaust system an "upgrade" is a misnomer, unless you consider louder as an upgrade. They sound different, but don't give you more performance. I went to the Borla/Ford Racing muffler, partly because it weighs 20lbs less. It is louder when you accelerate, but at cruise it's...

Put 'em in a box. You won't miss them.

    Floor Mats

If you have big feet, remove the rubber mats. The rubber mats are thicker at the front, under the pedals, which reduces foot room. So I run with just the carpets.
